If you are like me, you are present in this moment because you are invested in your child’s future, & in particular, their soccer future.

The ideas and subjects covered in this e-book are for all types of development, including character.

These subjects and areas of development will apply to many areas, ages & stages.

Parent University (aka Parent ‘U’) is a concept that started as, over the first 8 years of Global Fútbol Training (GFT), I began to accumulate a series of commonly asked questions by parents.

So many parents have the same concerns by age. For example, a kindergarten parent rarely worries about fourth grade requirements, just as a fourth grader should be beyond primary development.

Each subsequent year as their child ages, parents become more aware of the requirements that change with each progressive level of understanding.

Responsibilities change, preparation & homework loads change.

The same is true in soccer. The first year or two of play the focus is primarily on proper development of understanding the rules and character of an athlete and teammate. Subsequent years produce a deeper level of understanding of competition, hunger, passion, and dedication.

This guide has some important milestone marks for parents to look for at each age group as well as what some curriculum components should look like for each child.

I hope that this guide helps you encourage your child on their soccer path but remember above all else that your child is unique in their approach to life, soccer & learning. Their development may occur at a different rate & that’s okay! There is no guarantee to their success by a formula but instead by your encouragement, guidance and support.

You’re already well on your way to supporting their efforts to succeed!
